What is enabled now

Our site uses HostPapa hosting, Cloudflare delivery, security, and Web Analytics, a reader contact form, and a Beehiiv newsletter signup. Some articles contain disclosed Amazon Associates links. Our calculator runs in your browser. Google AdSense is being prepared. Google’s site tag is installed on the public HTTPS site to connect our published consent messages. Advertising requests are paused in our code, and Auto ads is off in our AdSense account. Local previews do not load the Google tag. Google can receive technical information when its tag loads even when no ad is displayed.

Your calculator inputs stay on your device

Our calculator processes electricity rates, costs, system size, consumption, and battery settings in browser memory. Our calculator code does not send these inputs to Good Green or save them in cookies or browser storage. Reloading resets them. Do not enter personal identifiers into the numeric fields.

Cloudflare analytics, hosting, and cookies

Cloudflare Web Analytics is active. Cloudflare describes this service as using no analytics cookies or browser storage and not tracking individuals across customers’ websites. This is separate from its delivery and security processing, which can use necessary security cookies. A cookie-free service still involves technical processing. We use aggregate traffic and performance reports, not an advertising profile built from your calculator inputs.

HostPapa and Cloudflare may keep technical and security records according to their own services and retention practices. Provider log retention and our access vary by service; we have not established a single retention period for those records. See HostPapa’s privacy information, Cloudflare Privacy Policy, and Cloudflare’s cookie descriptions.

Newsletter signup and email

The Beehiiv signup form loads only after you choose to load it on our newsletter page. Before that choice, that page does not load the embedded Beehiiv form. Loading it connects your browser to Beehiiv and its providers, which may process IP address, browser information, page/referrer data, form interactions, and cookies or similar technologies. It does not subscribe you; the form asks separately for your email and newsletter consent.

Beehiiv may process delivery status, opens, and link clicks after subscription; email privacy protections can affect those measurements. You can unsubscribe using the link in each newsletter. Removing the embedded form stops further form use in that page, but does not remove cookies already set by third parties or unsubscribe you. See Beehiiv Privacy Policy. We do not sell or rent the subscriber list or give it to sponsors. Sending a contact message does not subscribe you.

Affiliate links

Amazon Associates links are labeled “paid link,” and articles explain the relationship before buying links. The current site uses outbound retailer links rather than embedded Amazon advertising scripts. Following a link opens another service with its own cookies, attribution, and privacy practices. See Amazon’s Privacy Notice and our affiliate disclosure.

Google AdSense and advertising

AdSense ad requests remain paused in this website version. Google’s tag can load privacy messages and process technical information such as your IP address and page/device details. Consent messages can store your choices. The description below also covers additional processing that may occur if advertising is enabled after verification; no visible ad is required for some Google processing to occur.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on previous visits to this website or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies can allow it and its partners to personalize ads using activity across sites, where permitted by your choices and applicable law. Ad services may also use web beacons, IP addresses, device information, and other identifiers for delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and related services. How Google uses information from partner sites explains Google’s practices.

You can manage Google ad personalization through Google Ad Settings, and explore participating vendors’ opt-outs at YourAdChoices. These settings do not replace this site’s consent choices. Non-personalized ads can still use information or storage for measurement, security, and other purposes; “non-personalized” does not mean “no data processing.”

Good Green has published Google’s European consent and US-state opt-out messages for this site. Their delivery and consent signals must be verified on the public site before ad requests are enabled. These messages are not a determination that every regional privacy requirement has been satisfied. Optional advertising storage must not be treated as necessary simply because it helps fund the site. Reading an article or scrolling is not consent. Rejecting optional advertising must not prevent access to our articles.

Your privacy choices

Use “Your privacy choices” or “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” in the footer to return here. When Google’s consent service is available, the button below can reopen its applicable European consent message so you can change or withdraw choices. US opt-out controls are provided by the applicable published Google message. Google’s consent service may remember the choices you make when its message is available.

Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a browser signal that can communicate a sale/sharing or targeted-advertising opt-out. Our Google tag is configured to pause advertising requests, whether or not GPC is enabled. The consent service itself still connects to Google. Advertising activation requires verification that applicable GPC and consent signals are honored. A Do Not Track signal alone is not a substitute for an advertising consent choice. Browser controls can block or clear cookies, but do not unsubscribe you from email or erase server-side records.

Requests from California, other US states, and other regions

Depending on your location and the laws that apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of information; withdraw consent; object to or restrict processing; and opt out of sale/sharing or targeted advertising. Some laws also provide authorized-agent, appeal, and complaint rights. These rights and exceptions vary. We do not require a newsletter subscription to make a privacy request or discriminate against you for exercising applicable rights.

Use the contact form with “Privacy request,” or our postal address. Describe your request, the information or service involved, and how to reply. If you use an authorized agent, include sufficient information for us to assess authority. We may request proportionate verification before releasing or deleting information, but do not send passwords, payment details, government identifiers, or sensitive documents in the initial message. If you believe a request was wrongly denied, contact us through the same channels and label it “Privacy appeal.” You may also complain to the competent privacy regulator or state attorney general where applicable.

Good Green does not sell or rent subscriber records. If advertising is activated, some advertising disclosures may constitute sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under applicable laws even when no money changes hands. That is why advertising choices and opt-out signals must be operational before such processing begins. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information for profiling or use information to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Legal bases and international processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, our purposes include responding to correspondence you request, maintaining and securing this service based on legitimate interests where permitted, complying with legal obligations, and using consent for newsletter subscriptions or optional advertising technologies where required. You can withdraw consent without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. HostPapa, Cloudflare, Beehiiv, Google, and their providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Relevant providers describe applicable safeguards and transfer mechanisms in their privacy information; we do not promise that all information remains in your country.

How long information remains

Calculator inputs remain only in the current page’s memory. Contact messages remain in correspondence mailboxes for as long as needed to respond, resolve a concern, preserve necessary records, or meet legal obligations; retention is assessed by purpose rather than a fixed period for every message. Our handler does not keep a separate message database. Its anti-spam records contain a keyed network identifier and attempt times; attempts expire from rate calculations after 15 minutes, and older records are removed during later requests.

Subscriber records are maintained while subscribed, and limited unsubscribe/suppression information may remain to honor opt-outs. Deletion requests are subject to applicable recordkeeping and other lawful exceptions. Vendor security logs, analytics, consent records, and any future advertising records have their own retention practices; their providers’ policies and consent interfaces supply further information. Good Green cannot directly erase records controlled independently by those providers.

Children and security

This is a general-audience publication, not a service directed to children. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13 or knowingly use minors’ information for behavioral advertising. If you believe a child supplied information, contact us so we can investigate and address it. Do not send sensitive information through the reader form. HTTPS protects transport, but no service can guarantee absolute security.

We update this date when the notice changes. New advertising or tracking requires corresponding disclosures and operational privacy controls before activation. Material changes will be described here, with additional notice or consent when required.
