THE PEOPLE / THE PURPOSE
Good ideas for a healthier world.
Good Green explores new and old ideas that can help make the world cleaner and healthier for everyone.
Meet Jon Ofstead
Jon Ofstead is the founder and editor of Good Green. He is a Fire Captain, photographer, and graphic designer with a love for the good and the green in the world.
He started this site as a way to explore new and old ideas for making the world a cleaner and healthier place for everyone. Good Green brings that curiosity to clean energy, transportation, environmental health, and opportunities to take part in positive change.
Small choices. Shared progress.
A useful idea might be a better way to use sunshine, equipment that stays in service longer, or a local organization doing work worth supporting. We want readers to leave with something they can understand, share, or put to work.
Individual choices are part of a bigger picture. Companies, governments, and communities have major roles in reducing pollution and protecting the places we share. Good Green connects practical personal decisions with opportunities for collective action.
How our guides are made
Good Green publishes research-based explainers, comparisons, and practical tools. Articles link to their sources and identify the dates, locations, assumptions, and limitations that matter. News summaries are attributed to the original reporting or research. Our editorial questions and illustrative calculations are identified separately from measured findings.
AI assists with drafting, research organization, and production. The site’s conceptual illustrations are AI-generated and labeled. They do not document real test results or events.
Our product shortlists are desk research unless an article specifically describes firsthand use or testing. We do not invent test results, interviews, credentials, or firsthand experience. A personal experience is one person’s account, not a controlled product test.
How Good Green can earn money
We may earn commissions from clearly identified paid links, and may carry labeled advertising or sponsorships. Those relationships must not decide what we cover or what we conclude. Reader value and environmental benefit guide the publication.
Make the next story better
Have a useful local example, a correction, or a question we should investigate? Tell us what happened, where, and when, and include a source if you can. Sharing a well-documented example helps make environmental progress easier for others to understand.
